Understanding Sentence Types

Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, or Exclamatory Sentences

Declarative Sentence: A declarative sentence makes a statement, provides information, or expresses an idea. It ends with a period.

Interrogative Sentence: An interrogative sentence is a question. It ends with a question mark.

Imperative Sentence: An imperative sentence gives a command, makes a request, or offers advice. It ends with a period or an exclamation mark.

Exclamatory Sentence: An exclamatory sentence expresses strong emotion or excitement. It ends with an exclamation mark.

Example Sentence:

"What are you going to wear?"
