Calculating Velocity of a Motorbike

How can we calculate the speed of the motorbike after work is performed?

The work done by the engine is converted into kinetic energy of the motorbike+rider system:

Energy (E) = 6400 J

Mass (m) = 200 Kg

Velocity (v) = ?

Answer:

The speed of the bike after the work is performed is 8 m/s

The speed of the bike can be calculated using the formula:

E = ½mv²

6400 = ½ × 200 × v²

6400 = 100 × v²

Divide both sides by 100

v² = 6400 / 100

v² = 64

Take the square root of both sides

v = √64

Therefore, the speed of the motorbike after the work is performed is 8 m/s.
